There is quarantine and layover available by independent facilities here in Pennsylvania - email us for a list of independent providers who will pickup your horse Monday layover, quarantine or provide shipping and assist you in acquiring a health certificate.

Shipping/transport if you are not able to pickup your horse please email us for a list of shippers/transporters.

NOTES  & FAQ:

The Deadline for the broker program is Friday at 9 pm est. sometimes we do get extensions but it isn't guaranteed.   Pickup of the horses on the scheduled date/time-  if you can't personally pickup there is a shipping list and a layover/quarantine provider list available by request.  Any horses left at pickup - not picked up will acquire an additional shipping fee to a layover facility and a daily holding rate of $15.00.

Donation/Fundraising/Sponsorship - The process is that each horse has  a chip in assigned to it.  The is an is an automated donation counter that you can click on at any time to see the progression of fundraising.  The chip in can also be used to pay for the horse/direct bail.  If bail is not raised for any one horse, the monies will be used for the most urgent need. Fundraising is not guaranteed.  Another Chance 4 Horses, Inc. is a 501c(3) non profit rescue.  All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  This link is located on both forms under the payment worksheet, the website and Facebook and is used for both donations and payments.  Please notate payment or donation/sponsorship and horse number when sending money if you forget or don't see the area to notate simply send an Email to us to clarify.   Direct bail and full sponsorship (one person donating the cost of the horse), if a horse is paid for in full and not available for any reason you will be refunded in full.

If you want to offer a home to a sponsored horse-  If a horse is sponsored or if you are a rescue who can legally fundraise to take a horse home the references need to be sent to us, not just listed name/telephone number, the instructions are on the form.   During the fundraising process the horse is available for direct bail because fundraising is never guaranteed if a horse is direct bailed during the fundraising process the horse will go to the direct bail home.  To ensure a successful fundraising campaign please make sure that you assist in the fundraising efforts by sharing through your social media outlets such as email, facebook, twitter, etc. A suggestion is to request fundraising assistance in lieu of a present for anniversary, birthday, Christmas, etc. If you need assistance in setting up a campaign to send out please just email and ask we will be happy to help Email.

Registration Papers - Horses that are acquired by fundraising that have registration papers procedure is that the registration papers are held in the office of AC4H permanently or until such time as it is determined by AC4H to release.  You can apply to receive the registration papers after the horse is in your care for one (1) year.  The reason this is done is to make sure that the home is secure and the horse not transferred or sold without consent, this is simply extra protection for the horse when someone is getting the horse.  This does not apply if the horse is paid for/direct bailed.  If a horse is direct bailed the registration papers are sent to the new owner in the method requested and paid for by the new owner.  It takes about 30 days from the time the horse is listed until papers are sent/received.

Vetting - The coggins test is drawn on Monday the vet is there in the am and the vetting work is back by around 3 pm the same day.  Health Certificates - if a horse is at the lot or in layover/quarantine for two weeks the horse qualifies to be seen by the vet for a health certificate by the vet that does the coggins tests the layover facilities utilize a different vet who doesn't have this policy so a health certificate may be available sooner through them.  However, the horse still must pass the criteria to have a health certificate issued.  A health certificate is not a guarantee that the horse will not get sick only that the horse had no signs of communicable illness at the time it was seen for the health certificate to be issued.  Quarantine is recommended for a minimum of two (2) week recommended thirty (30) days.  We recommend that you speak with your vet to discuss quarantine and what is legally required for your State.

Information about Our Programs-

Traditional Rescue - Another Chance 4 Horses, Inc. has been a 501c(3) non profit charity since 2003.  Prior to becoming a 501c(3) charity we were a private rescue for five years who paid for all expenses out of our own pocket.  We are an all breed rescue organization.  The horses in our care are available to be seen by appointment.  Horses in our care http://www.ac4h.com/AC4Havailrescuehorses.htm .   Directions - http://www.ac4h.com/VolunteerDirectory.htm  When you save a life this way you actually save two the one you take with you and the one you make room for.  This is a great way to help a horse that is quarantined, evaluated multiple times and you can come see them in person and interact with them.  We hold appointments on Saturdays from 12 - 3 pm est please email us to schedule your visit.

Broker Owned - The broker owned horses is an additional program that we created 9 years ago to help the many horses that we can't bring into our traditional rescue.  We saw a need and created a way to help them offering them that assistance through our website and other media social sites and place about a thousand horses through this program annually.  The broker horses are not in our care and they are not at an auction. http://www.ac4h.com/BrokerOwnedProgram.htm.   Unfortunately, due to time constraints and the lack of assuring availability, we are not able to hold appointments to show them like we do the horses that are at our traditional rescues.  The horses in the broker owned program are not quarantined,  typically no past history unless is available or provided unless the horse has a tattoo we can trace or registration papers that allow volunteers/horse  helpers to contact the owners in the horses past.  We do independent evaluations of these horses this information along with any information gathered from research is provided on the website.   Helping a horse through the broker program IS rescue.  We highly suggest that you do your research to make sure this is something that are able to do.  There is no protection for your emotional investment.  However, there are insurance programs to cover your financial investment and we highly suggest that you consider and purchase insurance for your financial investment.

Ownership Assistance Placement.  We offer owners a way to place their horses by listing them on our high traffic website and international network.  This is a preventative program to assist in keeping horses out of the auction/slaughter circuit.  Assisting owners in placing their horses allows the owners to be involved in the process and provides less stress to the horse by moving from current home into the new home without taking the horse into the traditional rescue.  We advise owners to use a written contract, check references and do a home check.  We offer the use of our placement forms edited to remove our information replacing it with your own information.  With this program we can always assist a horse in need without having to have an opening at the rescue for the horse and keeping openings for the most urgent needs.  Information provided is from the owner, we cannot guarantee accuracy of the information.
